Typography

Postmodern designers were all about form follows function, so when it came to typography during this time period they used sans serif typefaces. To them san serif fonts were clean, crisp, and to the point allowing the information to do all the talking. Design during this movement was the same. They wanted everything to be clean and crisp. Typographers also liked Bauhaus design because they found aesthetic value in utilitarianism over adornment. Basically the idea as mentioned 345before, form follows function was the main focus; make thins minimal and concise. There was no need to add extra lines or pictures to the ads because they wanted them to be clean and simple. This was before any major computer technology, obviously, so if they wanted a new typeface they would have to hand make it. Typographers were still using metal type. They would make hand drawing on graph paper then use a photocopier or ink transfer.
